Here we are at the beginning of a New Year. I don’t know about you, but along with the fireworks, celebrations, and tributes to a new year, my thoughts migrate toward the positive changes I’d like to see take place in my life.       Goals for 2018

New Year Resolutions tend to fall into a deleted file somewhere in oblivion. Within the first two or three months of the new year, those self-assigned challenges fizzle out and dissolve.

Know the feeling? I’m sure you do.

I prayed for one word that best described my desires for 2018. Can you guess what came to mind?

consistency   consistency  C O N S I S T E N C Y  consistency consistency

Why? What’s so significant about this word?

Here are MY reasons:

. . . Because consistency in living life according to God’s will and purpose develops an inner peace that cannot be defined or measured.

. . . Because consistency to love others creates friendships that might never have been, and keeps friendships already developed.

. . . Because consistency in giving offers rewards in ways that cannot be measured.

. . . Because consistency in serving keeps humility in check and brings fulfillment, value, and contentment.

. . . Because consistency in my writing helps me meet goals and deadlines. It moves me forward into the calling God placed on my life and grants me a greater sense of purpose and achievement.

What does the New Year mean to you?
Winter lakeWhether you make resolutions, select a word for the year, or just take life as it comes, my prayer for you is that you find the answers you seek, find a life filled with love, peace, and happiness, and discover God’s direction for your life.

Have a blessed and happy New Year, my friends!

Beautiful, and so fitting for today’s fast-paced worth that too often eliminates God.
