WELCOME TO LORETTA’S LOFT

MY WEBSITE:

Reaching outside the walls of my loft, this website allows me to meet new people, make new friends, and have meaningful discussions. I am a writer, a deep thinker, a reformed introvert, and a lover of chocolate.

I strive to help people succeed in every area of their lives which is why this blog was designed. As you travel through each tab, you’ll discover interesting information about fiction, fun facts about chocolate, and encouraging truths about faith. Be sure to sign up on this site so you will always be in-the-know about what’s going on in Loretta’s Loft.

Bio

I grew up as the middle child in a small house with Christian parents and two sisters. We were what you’d call the middle-class family. My parents always made sure we had what we needed, not necessarily what we wanted.

At the age of eleven, Jesus came into my heart. My desire to learn and grow as a Christian grew stronger each year. When God opened the door, I landed a job at my church where I worked for eighteen years. I learned to multi-task and serve where there was a need. Along this journey, I discovered prayer was my lifeline through many trials. This discovery gripped my heart and I longed for others to know the peace they can find in understanding the power of prayer.

During my personal prayer times, I began writing poetry. As the pile of poems grew, I shared them with friends who pressed me to put them in book form. I knew nothing about publishing so I searched other books to see how they were formatted and began formatting my poetry book accordingly. In 2003, my self-published inspirational poetry book titled Good Ole Spiritual Food came to life and is now available as an eBook.

My real writing journey began with four years of classes through Jerry Jenkins Christian Writers Guild where I graduated with the Craftsman class. Through the Apprentice and Journeyman classes, I wrote several non-fiction short stories which were published in anthologies. I was elated. God put a path before me and I followed His lead.

The Craftsman class is where I caught hold of the world of fiction. Wow! Who knew I had an imagination? I discovered God can inspire the most fun, suspenseful, romantic, and meaningful stories through a gripping novel.

So, this is where I am today—pursuing my love of writing in the romantic suspense genre with Tamela Hancock Murray of The Steve Laube Agency as my agent.

Other than my relationship with Christ and my devotion to writing, my life is filled with the joy of having a supportive husband, four grown children, and twelve grandchildren.

My loft is always open, so stop in any time. Feel free to share your thoughts, ask questions, or interject some wisdom.
