Another cleverly crafted plot by author Dana R Lynn. This novel keeps readers engaged and on the edge of their seats. Her excellent pacing, intermingled with unexpected plot twists, ramps up the intensity a good romantic suspense novel requires.
Lilah Schwartz blames herself for her brother’s death after a house fire until she discovers he was murdered. She sets out to find the secret her brother tried to reveal right before he died. Unexpectantly, his wife kicks her out of their home where she’d lived since her parent’s death in a car wreck years ago. Why? Lilah now has nowhere to go. She runs into the woods when someone shoots at her and hides in the first barn she sees. Why is someone after her?
Levi Burkholder, home from Afghanistan, works part-time as a mechanic and drives buggies for Amish Country Tours, discovers her hiding in his father’s barn, visibly shaken and frightened. She explains she has no place to go and someone’s after her. Levi refuses to enter a relationship because of nightmares and flashbacks of the war, but he can’t turn her away. He offers to let her stay in his parent’s home and help her uncover her brother’s secret.
Through the terror of sniper attacks and more fires, they must trust each other if they want to survive the threats.
Amish Country Threats is a fast-paced novel. I give it five stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel for my honest review. All thoughts and comments are my own.
