This intriguing story captivated my curiosity and held me hostage. No pun intended. I couldn’t put the book down. It’s bad enough when Sergeant Nicole Dawson puts herself in the crosshairs and becomes the killer’s target, but add a baby trafficking ring in the mix and you’ve got my undivided attention.
When Nicole learns about the threat on the innocent Amish community and the disappearance of a pregnant lady, she can’t help but get involved in finding the kidnappers. Her goal is to rescue the mother and bring the baby home.
FBI Special agent Jack Quinn arrives in town to assist and learns his ex-fiancé is heading up the case. Although they are glad to see each other, Jack and Nicole have their issues and can’t see a way to resolve and reconnect. They must focus on the case and leave the past in the past.
